Montgomery
Montgomery Village is one of the U.S.'s few successful European-style, New Town planned communities. Since its inception in 1966, it has grown to become home to 40,000 residents, all of whom may partake of the natural beauty and resources made available through the more than 320 acres of land owned by the Montgomery Village Foundation, Inc.
|
Located in the heart of Montgomery County, the Village is conveniently located between Washington, DC and Baltimore with the I-270 Technology Corridor in between. With lots of jobs close to home and plenty of amenities in the Village and beyond, the Village and its rolling green hills, beautiful parks, lakes and cherry blossoms is the ideal place for families, seniors looking for a quiet neighborhood in which to retire or for singles just beginning to establish themselves.
While the Village is not incorporated as a traditional city or township, there are rules and regulations found within the Declaration of Covenants that are similar to a city or town code of ordinances. Also, most municipal type services are provided by the Foundation as a 501(c)(4) nonprofit, public service corporation. Some basic services such as household trash pick up are handled by one of the 20 homes corporations or condominium associations or one of the three apartment rental complexes located within the Village. |
